"When Genes Become Victims of Standards"
Are beauty standards worth altering our genes for?
Are beauty standards even fixed?
Is it truly worth changing the shape of your nose, your eyes, or your lips just to keep up with the times or to attract the attention of others?
Is it worth distorting the genetic image you were born with just to "satisfy" yourself or so you think?
In reality, you're not satisfying yourself, but rather convincing yourself that you've become "perfect."
The human mind is a double-edged sword.
If you convince it that you're flawed if you tell it that your nose doesn't suit you just because it doesn't look like what's seen on screens it will believe it⦠and will gradually start to reject itself.
But do you really have the right, as a rational human being, to alter your original self just because another person a human just like you decided to set "standards of beauty"?
How can any standard be considered absolute when it changes with every decade, every trend, every fashion wave?
Of course, Iβm not referring here to medical cases that require intervention, or to conditions that call for real change like severe obesity or congenital deformities these are human circumstances that deserve care and support.
But outside of that, what we call "beautification" isnβt always truly beautifyingβ¦ sometimes, itβs self-denial and an escape from acceptance
